The fuel pipeline between Northland and Auckland will be fixed earlier than expected.
The affects ofthe fuel crisis in Auckland have been easing, after the pipeline burst near Ruakaka, spilling up to 80 thousand litres of fuel onto nearby farmland.
Refining NZ head Sjoerd Post said the repair work on it is complete and it passed a test last night.
Post said they're in a start-up process but have to be careful to ensure air doesn't get into the pipeline as, if this happens, air can cause havoc to the pipeline pressure.
"We're basically planning at the moment now to basically have the first amount of jet fuel going to into Wiri around that midday time tomorrow."
Post said that could be plus or minus a couple of hours.
The pipeline won't run at full capacity again until early next year.
