A final rehearsal will be held today for tomorrow's major Anzac Day dawn service at Auckland Domain.

Up to 25,000 people are expected to attend the ceremony marking a hundred years since Anzac troops arrived on the Gallipoli Peninsula.

It's one of almost a hundred events taking place around Auckland over the next two days.

It's also the largest ceremony taking place in New Zealand.

Extra train services will operate from 4am, departing from Swanson, Papakura, Manukau, Onehunga and Britomart.

Inner Link bus services will operate every 15 minutes and Northern Express bus services will depart every 30 minutes from 4.30am.

Veterans and SuperGold holders will travel free.

The service, taking place in front of the Auckland War Memorial Museum, will be broadcast on large screens.

It will be held at the Court of Honour, on consecrated ground surrounding the Cenotaph at the north of the Auckland War Memorial Museum.

The area is sacred to the memory of New Zealand’s fallen service men and women.

A Sign Language interpreter will be visible on the Court of Honour and on the big screens.

Parade

Road closures
Cenotaph Road, Football Road, Lovers Lane, Maunsell Road Extension, Museum Circuit, The Crescent, Domain Drive and Lower Domain Drive closed 3am-1pm
There will be advisory signage on Cenotaph Road advising road closures and parking restrictions

Wet weather option
In the event of wet weather, parking on the sportsfields will be cancelled, however the service will still take place
Additional parking available at Old Brewery car park, corner Suiter Street and Khyber Pass, Newmarket

Bus
A Saturday timetable will be in place for all bus services with additional Inner LINK and Northern Express services provided for the ANZAC Day Dawn service from 4:30am
Inner LINK buses will operate approximately every 15 minutes (clockwise and anti-clockwise) from 4.45am to 6.30am. From 6.30am the services will operate to the normal Saturday timetable. These services operate to Auckland Museum in the Domain, linking Newmarket with additional rail services and Britomart for Northern Express and rail.
Additional Northern Express services will operate from Albany to Britomart at 4.30am, 5.00, 5.30 and 6.00. The normal Saturday timetable resumes from 6.30am.
If you have a Veteran’s SuperGold card, SuperGold card or RSA membership you can travel free all day on any Metrolink, Waka Pacific, North Star, GO WEST or any LINK bus.

Train
One additional early morning train per line to Newmarket from:
Swanson departing 4:15
Papakura departing 4:07
Manukau departing 4:05 (travels direct to Newmarket)
Onehunga departing 4:15
Britomart departing 4:50
All timed to arrive at Newmarket before 5:00am.

Western Line train services travel to Grafton station on Park Rd, which is a 10-15 minute walk to the Auckland Domain
Southern/Eastern Line reach Newmarket station, which is a 15-20 minute walk to the Domain, which can be travelled by Inner LINK bus

Ferry
A normal Saturday timetable will be in place for ferry services. Travel on all train and ferry services is free for SuperGold cardholders all day.

Parking
Parking restrictions will be implemented from 3am until 1pm on Saturday 25 April 2015. Parking restrictions on Cenotaph Road, Football Road, Maunsell Road Extension, Museum Circuit, The Crescent and Wintergarden Road. Parking in the underground car park, south and west sides of the Auckland War Memorial Museum is reserved for vehicles with an authorised car park pass.
Public parking will be available on Auckland Domain sports fields. The public will be asked to use the ramps provided. Mobility parking on The Crescent and Maunsell Road Extension (mobility parking permit holders only). In the event of inclement weather, parking on the sports fields will not be permitted. A decision will be made on 24 April 2015 at 2pm and advised here or by calling 09 301 0101.
Extra parking is available at the Old Brewery Car Park on the corner of Suiter Street and Khyber Pass, Newmarket. Daily parking charge is $1.
The AT Downtown Car Park will be open for those planning on attending the Anzac Day Dawn Service at Auckland Domain. The Downtown Car Park is a short walk to Customs Street where you can catch an Inner LINK bus direct to Auckland Domain. Mobility parking will be available via Wintergarden Road.
