Are you planning some Christmas tripping to the likes of London, Paris, Milan or Los Angeles? Grab the chance to see how some of the world’s best hotels are decking their halls. Here’s a round-up of enchanting festive frills and extra trimmings being rolled out at the Dorchester Collection properties, this Christmas.

Dorchester, London.  The Dorchester has recently unveiled a gingerbread replica of the hotel alongside a children’s Sweet Emporium. The Gingerbread Hotel, a creation dreamt up by the hotel’s executive chef Henry Brosi, measures approximately 180cm in length and weighs 150kg. The renowned Christmas Carol Afternoon Tea has returned to The Promenade and will run until Sunday, December 18, 2016. Expertly decorated for the festive season, the room will glitter with all the festive touches of Christmas, whilst the sound of a children’s school choir and the resident pianist echo throughout The Promenade. Guests staying at The Dorchester for the holidays will benefit from 15% off the best available rate on luxurious accommodation for two with breakfast and a surprise festive treat on arrival. Available from December 5 to January 8.

45 Park Lane, London.  To ring in the jolly season, head bartender Maurizio Palmero has created a festive take on 45 Park Lane’s signature Negroni cocktail. The Holly Spirits cocktail is a bitter and light aperitif combining a nutmeg and clove infused homemade soda with the traditional recipe.45 Park Lane LondonReminiscent of the iconic aromas of winter, the cocktail is created in front of guests thanks to the unique experience offered by BAR 45’s Negroni trolley. ‘Holly Spirits’ is available throughout December, priced from £17.

Coworth Park, Ascot. Dorchester Collection’s luxury country house hotel and spa, has announced the appointment of Adam Smith as executive chef. Former Observer Food Monthly Young Chef of the Year, Craft Guild of Chefs’ Restaurant Chef of the Year and Roux Scholarship Winner, Adam Smith joins Coworth Park to lead a new culinary direction. Guests can relax in the luxurious country house hotel and experience deluxe accommodation for two with breakfast and a delicious festive treat on arrival. The ‘Festive Season’ package is available until January 8, 2017.

Hôtel Plaza Athénée, Paris.  Capitalising on Hôtel Plaza Athénée’s haute couture positioning, this festive season will welcome the first ever Dior Couture Christmas tree at the heart of the Parisian palace hotel. From December 15, 2016, the hotel lobby will sparkle with the Dior Couture Christmas tree. Hôtel Plaza Athénée stages ‘World of Enchantment’ from until January 5, 2017. The hotel will display a charming exhibition in partnership with leading French doll brand Corolle. Guests can then don a pair of skates and enjoy the hotel’s famous ice rink in La Cour Jardin.

Le Meurice, Paris. Guests visiting Le Meurice this Christmas can enjoy a delightful package which includes luxurious accommodation in a room or suite with breakfast and delicious in-room treats, including chocolate sweets from the Manufacture de Chocolat by Alain Ducasse and a bottle of champagne. For those booking a suite, Le Meurice will festively decorate the room, completing the ‘home away from home’ experience with a Christmas tree in the living room. Available from December 11, 2016 to Sunday, January 8, 2017. To celebrate the festive season, pastry chef Cédric Grolet will unveil a Hazelnut Chocolate Yule Log, an original, indulgent creation inspired by his flagship product. Drawing on the classic flavour combination of hazelnut and chocolate, the yule log will delight fans of all ages.

Hotel Principe di Savoia, Milan. Hotel Principe di Savoia offers guests a luxurious Christmas getaway. With the entrance sprinkled with Christmas magic and an array of glittering fairy lights from the beginning of December, families visiting Hotel Principe di Savoia will fall into the festive spirit. From December 20 to 24, Father Christmas will make a special visit to the hotel to welcome children to the hotel from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. Surrounded by Christmas markets and last minute shoppers, hotel guests will enjoy a welcome gift of Milanese panettone, hot chocolate and petit fours at Il Salotto, in addition to a special themed dinner for two at Acanto. The ‘Luxury Christmas Getaway’ package is available from December 11, 2016 to January 8, 2017.

The Beverly Hills Hotel, Beverly Hills. Experience the most wonderful time of the year at The Beverly Hills Hotel with their speciality cocktails, chirpy carollers and visits from Father Christmas. Capturing the festive spirit, the Holiday Joy package includes overnight accommodation with breakfast for two people and a complimentary welcome cocktail at the Polo Lounge, Bar Nineteen12 or the Cabana Café. The ‘Holiday Joy’ package is available from Sunday, December 11, 2016 to Sunday, January 8, 2017.

Hotel Bel-Air, Los Angeles.  Amongst the sparkling ornaments and twinkling lights, experience this enchanting season at Hotel Bel-Air with their festive meals, speciality cocktails, whimsical children’s activities and a visit from Father Christmas.
