About Chris

Chris Lynch is an award winning journalist. He began his broadcasting career at Canterbury Television and returned to his hometown of Christchurch after working on TVNZ’s Close Up programme for four years, producing many feature stories on issues facing the city post-quake.

Chris is no stranger to Newstalk ZB, having worked as a reporter covering the South Island's West Coast, as well as working at the network's headquarters in Auckland. In 2012, he picked up the award for Best Reporter on a Daily Current Affairs Programme at the TV Awards.

Despite Chris' obsession for hard hitting news and current affairs, he's also worked with the Walt Disney Company in a creative role.

Chris says he’s extremely excited about 2013 and feels privileged to be part of the region’s rebuild. He says he’s looking forward to seeing real progress in the city he still calls home.
