Olympic swimming hope dies at training camp

By: Matt Brown | Latest Swimming News | Wednesday May 2 2012 6:47

Top Olympic hope and breaststroke world champion Alexander Dale Oen has died during a training camp in Arizona.

Norway's swimming federation says the 100 metre breaststroke world champion was found collapsed on the floor of his bathroom and was taken to a medical centre in Flagstaff where he was pronounced dead.

The 26-year-old reportedly had a heart attack.

Oen won gold at the World Champs in Shanghai last year and won silver at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
