Carlos Spencer sacked from coaching role

By: Radio Sport staff | Latest Rugby News | Friday August 3 2012 9:43

Former All Black Carlos Spencer has been sacked as assistant coach of the Lions Super Rugby side with immediate effect.

South African media says the Lions have confirmed Spencer and conditioning coach Wayne Taylor have been shown the door, just two months after head coach and former All Blacks coach John Mitchell was suspended.

The Lions finished last in Super Rugby this year.

It leaves the Currie Cup champions without a coach, assistant coach, conditioning coach and captain just a week out from the start of the defence of their title.
