Highlanders lose three players to injury

By: Guy Heveldt | Latest Rugby News | Sunday May 6 2012 8:26

They've lost and to make matters worse, the Highlanders will be without three players for the remainder of the Super Rugby season.

They've fallen 28 -16 to the Sharks in Durban and to add to the pain, openside flanker Doug Tietjens, number eight Elliot Dixon and midfielder Shaun Treeby are all out for the rest of the year.

Coach Jamie Joseph runs through the injuries starting with Tietjens.

"... Looks to have ruptured a cruciate ligament. Elliot Dickson, he's ruptured a pectoral muscle and the third guy is Shaun Treeby, who looks to have fractured his cheekbone."
