New Zealand's scraped past Samoa to record a perfect opening day at the Glasgow leg of the IRB World Sevens Series.

They've beaten Samoa 22-21 in their final Pool B game having earlier blitzed France 66-nil and made light work of Spain 31-5.

New Zealand will face Argentina in the quarter-finals.
