Rebel Byrnes suspended

By: nick walker | Latest Rugby News | Sunday March 4 2012 21:20

Melbourne Rebels lock Adam Byrnes has been suspended for ten weeks for eye gouging in their loss to the Waratahs on Friday night.

It's been found that Brynes made contact with the eyes of Waratahs midfielder Tom Carter, and he'll be unavailable until round 13 of the competition in late May.

Also in trouble is Bulls utility Francois Hougaard, who's been banned for one week for a lifting tackle that saw him red-carded in their win over the Cheetahs.
