Spurs thrash Trail Blazers to take top spot

| Latest Basketball News | Tuesday April 24 2012 15:44

The San Antonio Spurs have clinched top spot in the NBA's Western Conference with a 124-89 thrashing of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Tim Duncan and Daniel Green both struck 18 points to claim the win and deny Oklahoma City Thunder a top place finish after they led the standings for most of the season.

Philadelphia's claimed the last playoff berth in the East, with a 105-87 win over the New Jersey Nets.

The regular season ends on Friday.
