Duck hunting season off to a good start

The duck hunting season in Southland has got off to a good start.

Southland Fish and Game spokesman Zane Moss says the level of compliance with the rules was very good and about the best he had noted in a couple of years.

He says there were just a few rule compliance issues.

Mr Moss says another pleasing aspect was hunters acting responsibly with regards alcohol consumption.
