The man convicted of the murder of an elderly New Plymouth woman will be released from prison today. Gary Ladbrook was convicted in 1993 for the murder of 83-year-old Norma Sole in her home, the previous year. In a decision out earlier this month the Parole Board says the 55-year-old remains at high risk of re-offending. However he'll be released on standard conditions for life and on special conditions which will last for 10 years from today. He's also not to consume or possess alcohol or illicit drugs, and must remain in the South Island. Photo: NZ Herald |
