Unspecified security threat at university

By: Laura Heathcote | Latest Christchurch News | Tuesday April 24 2012 15:32

Christchurch police remain at Canterbury University this afternoon after what they're calling an unspecified security threat.

The James Hight building has been evacuated and police are searching the area.

The building is hosting the ANZAC of the Year awards function this evening.

Canterbury District Commander Superintendent Gary Knowles says it's not known whether the threat is genuine, but police are taking appropriate precautions.
