Dunne not taking either side in SkyCity deal

By: Katie Bradford-Crozier | Latest Political News | Wednesday May 23 2012 12:56

A bob each way seems to be the position United Future leader and Minister for Gambling Issues Peter Dunne seems to have taken on the SkyCity convention centre for pokies deal.

Mr Dunne spoke to the National Problem Gambling Provider forum in Auckland this morning.

He says he supports the idea Auckland needs a world class convention centre, but at the same time wants a reduction in poker machines across the country.

But he's not "fixated" on where those machines are located, as long as the downward trend continues.

Mr Dunne says beyond that he will not make a final decision until a proposal emerges.
