New Zealand to hold Green Energy Summit

| Latest Political News | Wednesday August 29 2012 15:07

New Zealand is to hold a Green Energy Summit for the Pacific next April.

Foreign minister Murray McCully has made the announcement at the Pacific Islands Forum in Rarotonga.

The event will be sponsored by the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the Australian Government.

Mr McCully says it is about translating talk on increasing renewable energy in the Pacific into action.

"Time has come for us to try and move pass talk on the renewable energy front and see a lot more action and we think it is a very appropriate parting gift as forum chair for the past year."
