Assaulted man dies

The man seriously assaulted in Tokaanu nearly two weeks ago, has died.

Gordon Tunnicliffe died yesterday at Cranford Hospital in Hastings - he was 64.

Detective Inspector says police will be considering the results of a post mortem examination, before deciding whether or not to lay further charges against the 21-year-old who's already been charged with assaulting Tunnicliffe.

Mr Tunnicliffe's funeral will be held next week in Hastings.
