Asset sales hikoi marches into Hamilton

By: Annabel Reid | New Zealand News | Sunday April 29 2012 9:42

The hikoi against asset sales marches into Hamilton today.

Thousands of people took part in a rally against the partial sell-down of state assets in Auckland yesterday.

The 'Aotearoa is Not For Sale' group is gathering about at around 10am on Victoria Street in Hamilton to show their opposition to asset sales.

The hikoi will stop at Karapiro Dam on the Waikato River which is owned by Mighty River Power.

It's the first Government owned power company earmarked for a sell-down.
