Breakers may get championship parade

Auckland will be rolling out the red carpet to celebrate Sky City Breakers' Australian National Basketball League victory.

Mayor Len Brown says a parade for the team is on the cards.

He says it's a fantastic achievement.

"Auckland wants to celebrate this so a parade very much an option up and down Queen Street and a bit of a celebration in Aotea Square, that's there for them it's up to them as to whether or not they want to take up that offer."

Len Brown says the Breakers will probably need about three days to get over their own celebrations.
