A New Zealand eye surgeon has been awarded a rare honour.
Dr Paul Rosser will receive an honorary Cook Island residency for his volunteer work there over the last 20 years.
He's been visiting since 1992, and performed nearly 1,000 cataract operations.
Dr Rosser says he fell in love with the Cook Islands when he was a young boy, and has taken his wife and children back on a number of trips since.
The residency will be awarded to Dr Rosser by a Queen's representative at a special ceremony on July 10.
