Kiwis taking their teeth for granted

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Health News | Thursday July 12 2012 12:11

The New Zealand Dental Association says people aren't looking after their teeth anymore.

The association and Colgate have teamed up to provide free dental check ups to more than 70 people in Mangere over the next two days.

NZDA oral health educator Deepa Krishnan is running dental care talks alongside the clinics.

Ms Krishnan says too many people take their teeth for granted.

"This year we thought this would be a wonderful opportunity to talk to them one on one, educate them."

She says people need to remember that their teeth are a priority.

The clinic is only open to community service card holders.
