Date set for trial of historical murder

A trial date has been set for the man accused of a historical murder in Turangi.

Menzies Hallett is alleged to have murdered Turangi man Rodney Tahu outside the petrol station he worked at, in 1979.

The 71-year-old's trial is set down for April 22 next year, and is scheduled to run for two weeks.
