A Newstalk ZB listener has emailed through a photo of his father during World War Two.
In his email he asks: Is the very tall chap in a white rugby looking jersey, with black parted hair, Sir Fred Allen?
The photo was taken en route to Egypt from Liverpool, UK, circa 1941 on the RMMV Athlone Castle. The 23 Battalion, 27 Machine Gun Battalion (Sir Fred's outfit), the 28 Maori Battalion and others were onboard.
Can you tell us anything about this photo, and whether or not that is indeed Sir Fred Allen?
