ZB wins at NZ Radio Awards

Newstalk ZB has picked up a number of prizes at the 2012 NZ Radio Awards today. The annual ceremony recognises excellence in radio broadcasting in the country.

Our very own Mike Hosking has won Best Talk or Current Affairs Host for the third year running for his weekday nationwide breakfast show.

Not only that, Canterbury Mornings host Mike Yardley has also picked up Best Talkback Host (all markets), up against Wellington mornings host Sean Plunket.

Our own Barry Holland picked up an award for Services to Broadcasting.

Murray Deaker has also picked up Best Sports Presenter/Commentator.

Dallas Gurney, Matt Hunt, Malcolm Jordan, Nigel Yalden and Rikki Swannell have won Best Sports Story/Event for our coverage of the 2011 Rugby World Cup final, and rugby editor Nigel Yalden has won Best Individual Sports Journalist.

And General Manager of Talk Programming Dallas Gurney has won Programmer of the Year.
