Djokovic and Nadal advance to quarters

The world's top two players have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.

Both Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have posted straight-sets victories.

Nadal's progressed with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Japanese 16th seed Kei Nishikori while Djokovic has beaten French 17th seed Richard Gasquet 7-5, 6-3.

Meanwhile Andy Roddick has exited the Miami Masters just a day after upsetting Roger Federer.

The American has been beaten in straight sets by Argentina's Juan Monaco.

Monaco joins the likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray in the quarter finals.

On the women's side, world number two Maria Sharapova has advanced to the semi-finals with a 6-3 6-love victory over Chinese eighth seed Li Na.

And Caroline Wozniacki is through to the final of the Miami Open.

The Dane has beaten Serena Williams in straight sets to earn a meeting with Maria Sharapova.
