Serena Williams reaches quarter finals in Stanford

Serena Williams has won her first match since winning Wimbledon at the weekend.

Williams has beaten fellow American Nicole Gibbs 6-2 6-1 to reach the quarter finals at the WTA tournament in Stanford.

New Zealand's Marina Erakovic plays her second round match against Poland's Ursula Radwanska tomorrow.
