Erakovic now looks to Roland Garros

| Latest Tennis News | Wednesday May 23 2012 6:17

Kiwi tennis number one Marina Erakovic has played her final match ahead of the French Open.

The 6th seed has been knocked out of the Strasbourg WTA tournament in the first round by Japanese nemesis Ayumi Morita.

Erakovic has never beaten Morita in five attempts and succumbed 6-1, 6-3 in their rain affected match.

"She just takes the ball quite early and if I'm not hitting out well and if I'm not on target she just takes advantage of that, so I really have to be on my game and today I wasn't, I've had some really close ones with her in the past."

She will now head to Paris to complete preparations for Roland Garros starting Sunday night.

"Very excited. I always like to play at Roland Garros, it's a great event. I like the clay, even though I haven't played on it much when I was younger but it's definitely a great tournament."
