By: Matt Brown | Latest Tennis News | Thursday January 24 2013 11:41

The women's semi-finals take centre stage at the Australian Tennis Open today.

With Serena Williams out of the tournament, Marina Sharapova now looms as the favourite for the title having dropped just nine games in reaching the final four.

Sharapova plays Li Na for a place in the final, in the first of the semis from 3:30pm.

The second semi has 19-year-old American Sloane Stephens against defending champion Victoria Azarenka.

Defending champ Novak Djokovic plays David Ferrer in the first of the men's semi finals tonight.
