Murray holds off Federer to push into final

By: Graeme Agars | Latest Tennis News | Saturday January 26 2013 5:58

Andy Murray is through to an Australian Open final showdown with Novak Djokovic after holding off a dramatic fightback from Roger Federer in the semi finals.

Murray has taken four hours to subdue Federer, who came back from two sets to one down to take the match to a fifth set.

But the Scot stepped up his game in the deciding set, taking it 6-2 to advance to his third Australian Open final.

Murray has faced Djokovic on 17 previous occasions, with Djokovic leading their head-to-head match-ups 10-7.

However Murray won their most recent meeting at last year's US Open.
