By: Matt Brown | Latest Tennis News | Thursday June 28 2012 5:04

Six-time champion Roger Federer has cruised into the third round at Wimbledon with a straight sets win over Italy's Fabio Fognini.

The world number three has won 6-1, 6-3, 6-2.

"I didn't think it was that easy of a match. I really tried to focus hard and made sure I play a clean match which I was able to do again today."

Rain has meant the centre court roof is closed this morning.

The major upset so far today has seen US Open champion and fifth seed Sam Stosur lose in three sets to Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus..

The fifth seed has followed the likes of Bernard Tomic and Lleyton Hewitt out of the tournament with no Aussies into a Grand Slam third round for the first time in the Open era.
