Increase to Roland Garros prize money

There's something of an olive branch to the ATP from organisers of the French Tennis Open.

Prize money at Roland Garros will increase this year by seven percent, to nearly NZ$30 million.

A large part of that increase will be spread across the early rounds.

Players on the men's tour have been fighting for a greater slice of grand slam prize money to be distributed in the early rounds, rather than given to winners.
