Aus Open: Djokovic in top form - Murray

By: Daryl Fenemor | Latest Tennis News | Sunday January 27 2013 14:26

Defending champion Novak Djokovic looks to reaffirm his dominance as world tennis number one when he takes on Andy Murray in the Australian Open final in Melbourne tonight.

Djokovic cruised into the final by smashing David Ferrer, while Murray was pushed to five sets against Roger Federer.

Murray defeated the Serb in the US Open final and knows he'll need to push himself to the limit to beat the consistently high-performing Djokovic.

"He's number one in the world, he's been in the US Open final, French Open final, Wimbledon semis and he's in the final here so he's playing extremely well."

Murray says the Serb is even tougher to beat in Melbourne.

"The task isn't any easier obviously playing Novak again on this court. This has been his best court for sure so I'm aware of how tough it will be to win the match."

The final starts at 9:30pm.
