Djokovic ready for showdown with Ferrer

By: Guy Heveldt | Latest Tennis News | Wednesday January 23 2013 6:41

Novak Djokovic remains on track for a third Australian Open title in a row.

The top seed is into a semi final showdown against 4th seed David Ferrer after seeing off the challenge of 5th seed Thomas Berdych in four sets.

Djokovic says he felt no ill effects from his five hour marathon two days ago.

He says he felt good enough to go another five hours!

Ferrer is into his fifth grand slam semi-final after a remarkable fight against fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro.

The Heineken Open champ's come back from two sets down to beat Almagro in five sets in just under four hours.

Maria Sharapova's hammered fellow Russian Ekatarina Makarova in straight sets to set up a women's semi-final with China's Li Na.
