Tennis: Strong field shaping for Heineken Open

Auckland's Heineken Tennis Open is on track to have the strongest field ever assembled for this summer's ATP event.

23rd ranked Philipp Kohlschreiber is the fifth top 25 ranked player confirmed for January's tournament.

"I'm looking for, I have quite great experience and I know I play well there, so I hope the best for 2014."

There are three top 20 players coming to the tournament, headed by third ranked defending champion David Ferrer, while South African Kevin Anderson is ranked 21st.

Kohlschreiber's signing follows that of former world number one Venus Williams for January's ASB Classic.
