By: Brenton Vannisselroy | Latest Swimming News | Monday January 14 2013 13:19

Swimming New Zealand has confirmed it's accepted the resignation of high performance coach Mark Regan.

In a short statement, Swimming New Zealand's acting CEO Mark O'Connor says the sport's board is disappointed Regan's resigned on the ave of the arrival of their new high performance director, Luis Villanueva.

Regan has coached New Zealand's best performed swimmer, Lauren Boyle, over the last couple of years with Boyle winning gold and bronze at the world short course championships late last year.

The governing body plans to meet with all the swimmers directly affected by his departure.
