Disastor for NZ's women sailors

By: Gary Denvir | Other Sport News | Thursday August 9 2012 0:23

Disaster for New Zealand sailors Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie in the women's 470 class at the Olympic Games.

They've finished 18th out of the 20 boats in the 10th race of the regatta, to blow an eight point lead over second placed Great Britain.

The two crews are now level pegging on 33 points, with only the medal race remaining.

New Zealand and Great Britain will battle for gold and silver on Saturday morning, with the third placed Netherlands crew too far back to challenge the leaders.
