Big night for Kiwis in athletics

Two of New Zealand's Commonwealth Games silver medallists will finally take part in London 2012 tonight.

Javelin thrower Stuart Farquhar and decathlete Brent Newdick will be in action on day 12 of the Games.

Farquhar will line up in qualifying, boasting one of the biggest throws in the world this year, while Newdick will compete in the long jump, shot put, high jump, 100 metres and the 400 metres on day one of his gruelling event.

Lucy Van Dalen also returns to the track in the semifinals of the 1500 metres.
