Confidence NZ will have six triathlon spots

By: Andy Rowe | Other Sport News | Thursday April 19 2012 7:39

Triathlon New Zealand's confident the international body will confirm they will have six Olympic spots in London.

To qualify three athletes in both the men's and women's races, a county needs to be ranked inside the top eight in the world.

National coach Greg Fraine says with the men in sixth and the women in seventh it shouldn't be a problem

"It's looking pretty sweet, I'm never going to discount it, and as soon as we let our guard down will be when it gets dangerous."

The teams have been announced but ITU ratification on how many spots each country has isn't expected until next month.
