US tops Olympic medal count

The United States has topped the final medal count at the Olympics with 46 golds and 104 medals overall.

China has finished second with 38 golds with host nation Britain having its best games, finishing third with 29 golds and 65 medals overall.

New Zealand has finished in 16th place on the medal table with five gold, three silver and 5 bronze medals.
