Ferguson hoping to sign off Olympics in style

By: Brenton Vannisselroy | Other Sport News | Wednesday August 8 2012 19:58

New Zealand flat water kayaker Steven Ferguson has a chance to sign off from his fourth, and possibly last, Olympics in style.

Ferguson and Daryl Fitzgerald will line up in the final of the men's K2 1000 on day three of the canoe sprint programme at Eton Dorney.

The duo finished third in their semifinal and are considered only an outside shot at a medal.

It's something Ferguson has been chasing since his first Games in Sydney as a swimmer, with his previous best result coming in Beijing when he finished fifth in the K2 1000 with his previous partner Mike Walker.
