New Zealand's Nick Willis has faded to finish ninth in the men's 1500m final at the Olympics.
Algeria's Taoufik Makhloufi has won gold in a time of 3:34.08.
The pace never suited Willis who was forced to try and keep up with a final lap sprint.
He says it was never going well.
"Technically it worked out really well, I was excited about where I was. I just had nothing. My legs were shot I don't know why, I was just really tired."
