Armstrong removes Tour de France titles off Twitter

By: Nick Walker | Other Sport News | Tuesday October 23 2012 17:22

In perhaps the first display of guilt, Lance Armstrong has removed the reference to Tour de France titles from his Twitter account.

A day ago, Armstrong's account described himself as the father of five kids, seven-time Tour de France winner, a full time cancer fighter and a part time triathlete.

Now, it reads "Raising my five kids. Fighting Cancer. Swim, bike, run and golf whenever I can."

UCI president Pat McQuaid has also revealed Armstrong tried to find out in advance whether or not he would be banned for life.

McQuaid says he spoke to Armstrong on Friday, but refused to tell him the result of their findings until today's official announcement.
