Javelin thrower finishes third in Kawasaki

Javelin thrower Stuart Farquhar's been well off his personal best in finishing third at the IAAF World Challenge event in Kawasaki.

After becoming the top ranker thrower in the world this year with a best throw of 86.31 metres last weekend, he could only manage a best throw of 77.35 to finish third.

The winning throw was over 81 metres by a Japanese competitor.

Farquhar now heads to Brisbane for a week of training.
