Resisting temptations within the athletesâ village is one of the major obstacles Marc Willers is having to overcome ahead of the start of his Olympic campaign. New Zealand's leading male BMX rider will start his competition in London tomorrow morning, having fallen short of expectations in Beijing in 2008. Willers says the Olympic experience is not any easier the second time around. "It's hard to lock yourself in a room when there's 20,000 people walking around outside of all walks of life and it's one of those things you just want to take in, no matter how many times you come here." He says he's a much more accomplished rider than he was in 2008 and won't be satisfied unless he wins gold. Photo: Photosport |
