Magic man guiding Kiwi BMX rider

By: Brenton Vannisselroy | Other Sport News | Wednesday August 8 2012 22:26

Sarah Walker is receiving guidance from the man whoâ s helped the Chiefs and the Magic to their maiden titles this year.

New Zealandâ s leading female BMX rider has been working with Hamilton-based sports psychologist David Galbraith for the last two years to help prepare for the London Olympics.

Walker finished fourth in Beijing after entering the Games as the world number one.

She says she did everything she could last time around, but didnâ t believe she could medal.

"Coming into these ones, I feel stronger than I've ever been, faster than I've ever been, more confident than I've ever been and I guess I just have that belief which I didn't have four years ago."

The BMX competition starts early tomorrow morning, with seeding runs to determine the line-ups for the opening motos.
