Two female boxers may yet fly the New Zealand flag at this year's Olympic Games.
Alexis Pritchard lost her second round lightweight bout to American favourite Quanitta Underwood in the lightweight class at the world championships in China, but made it further than her Australian opponent in the draw meaning she's likely to claim an Oceania berth.
She looks likely to be joined by Siona Fernandes at the Games, who lost her opening flyweight fight but will qualify because her opponent has advanced further then the fighter who beat her Australian rival.
Boxing New Zealand says no announcements on Olympic qualification will be made until the world championships finish next week.
