Kiwi women to box at Olympics

By: Radio Sport Staff | Other Sport News | Thursday June 14 2012 14:48

The New Zealand Olympic Committee has confirmed two Kiwi women will fight at the Olympics.

Alexis Pritchard and Siona Fernandes both qualified for London at last month's Women's World Amateur Boxing Championships in China.

Pritchard will compete in the lightweight division, while Fernandes will fight in the flyweight.

It's the first time females have been allowed to box at the Games.
