India's IOC suspension expected to be short

| Other Sport News | Tuesday December 11 2012 15:05

Expectation that India's exile from the International Olympic Committee will be a short one.

India had its IOC membership suspended last week for flouting the Olympic charter in their election process.

Indian women's hockey coach Neil Hawgood says they'll likely be back soon.

"I'm not 100 percent across the lockout, I'm not sure of the reasons but my understanding is within a month the lockout will be gone. It's more a matter of a 'please explain about something' than it is about being locked out long term."

The Black Sticks host the Indian women in the third of six tests in Palmerston North tonight.
