New Zealand middle-distance runner Hamish Carson has run a personal best over the 1500 metres, but still remains three seconds outside the Olympic qualifying standard. Carson has recorded a time of three minutes, 38.04 seconds in race in Philadelphia, paced by Nick Willis. The time is two and a half seconds faster than his previous best.
