Olympics run in the family

By: Juliette Sivertsen | Other Sport News | Wednesday August 1 2012 22:39

The Olympics are becoming the theme for Sir John Walker's family - albeit for slightly different reasons.

The former Olympic champion's son Tim is in London for the Games, but he's using the time to boost his music career, with a number of gigs lined up this week.

He says he doesn't feel any pressure to succeed overseas, because of his father's success.

"In New Zealand it is kind of tough because you need to know if people are interested because of the music or because of dad. And the thing is I obviously am very proud of his achievements and stuff so I don't mind it being tagged on with me."

As for the Olympics themselves,Tim Walker says he'll be going along to watch the 1500 metre race to cheer on Nick Willis.
