Docherty 11th in final pre-Olympics triathlon

Bevan Docherty has secured finished the best of the Kiwis in 11th in their final triathlon hit out before the Olympics.

Docherty's come in 23 seconds behind the winner Richard Murray of South Africa in the ITU world series race in Hamburg, Germany.

Clark Ellice was the next best New Zealander in 14th.

National coach Greg Fraine says for most of the athletes, it's a training race.

"A lot of people will be looking for an event this close just as a last tester, a last key session."

Kris Gemmell finished back in 37th.
